Collision detection
Several collision detection modes can be used individually or combined
Three collision detection options are available for the Laing controllers. Current-based collision detection via evaluation of the drive current is implemented as standard in the Laing controller.
Laing GyroSense
Sensitive 6-axis sensor immediately detects even the smallest collisions.
Laing GraviSense
The change in the angle of the table top is used to detect collisions.
Standard
Current-based collision detection
All Laing controllers are equipped with collision detection based on the evaluation of motor currents. This can be configured according to requirements and usually offers protection in the event of a collision. The drives stop and return in the opposite direction by the configured value. The sensitivity can be adjusted using the control panels.
Extension
Laing GyroSense, the controller-integrated solution for collision detection
Laing controllers can optionally be equipped with a highly sensitive Gyro sensor that detects even the slightest changes in the inclination of the table top.
This guarantees reliable detection of collisions even with stiff connections and different loads. The sensitivity and response time are configurable and can be adjusted via the control panel. Since the sensor is integrated, there is no need to install it. GyroSense can also be combined with current-based collision detection and GraviSense.
Extension
Laing GraviSense, the
controller-integrated solution for collision detection in case of soft collisions
Laing GraviSense uses the change in the angle of the table top for precise collision detection. For each axis, it is definable at what deviation from the start angle a collision event is triggered. For example, at a setting of 2 degrees, a collision event is triggered when the angle of the table top changes by more than 2 degrees during movement. This significantly improves collision detection and reliably prevents tilting tables caused by soft collisions.
The GraviSense can also be ideally combined with GyroSense and current-based collision detection to ensure maximum safety.
