How to configure the Laing controllers

The Laing controllers are configured and monitored using powerful tools for the PC. Communication between the PC and controller is established via a USB to RS485 interface cable.

A powerful Wizard enables the controllers to be quickly adapted to the drives in just a few minutes. On top of that all the settings required for operation can be made.

The configuration files created by the Wizard can be loaded into other controllers within seconds using the Downloader.

The controllers have an integrated long-term test function to start tests and read out current values.

All status information can be read out and settings can be made via the Service Application. This tool is mainly used by the Laing Service.

Apps are available for Android and iOS that communicate with the controller via the BLE module. The apps automatically establish a connection to the controller, after which the user settings in the controller are set to the values stored in the smartphone. This automatically individualizes the controller.

The following functions are available
  • Assign a name — the controller is assigned a name that is displayed in the app
  • Private desk — the controller is permanently assigned to a user, other users have no access
  • Auto connect — the app automatically connects to the selected controller
  • Setting the 4 memory positions
  • Upper user limit
  • Lower user limit
  • Collision detection sensitivity
  • Reference run
  • Standing and sitting times for the Activity Assistant
  • Metric or imperial display
  • Voice control for approved applications
